Episode 13 is coming!

Okay, here's what I've been wanting to do. Today I'm going to start a series of BFM podcasts on birth. I want to walk mama's through finding out your pregnant to postpartum. I will go through it and then I would LOVE for you all to fill in the gaps and share your experiences so that we can all grow and learn from each other!

Be sure to comment here on the blog or email us at barefootmoms@gmail.com

Gracias!

Jenny McCarthy and Autism

(click the title for the link to Oprah.com)One of the most amazing tv shows ever today! Thank God for Jenny McCarthy. Maybe now someone will stop and listen to us MOMS! She's right on everything! I was crying, I was so happy that someone knows that what works for so many people, not just for autism but for so many other things IS working!

Our Purpose

I just wanted to make this quite clear to all of our listeners.

We in NO way feel that we are superior to others by the choices that we make. We have made choices in our lives that were less optimal for our families and now that we have educated ourselves, have found better ones and choose to pursue that path. All of the contributors to the BFM podcast certainly don't do everything the same and we love each other all the same.

If you don't breastfeed(which I didn't with my first but for three months) or you clean your house with toxic chemicals (which I might do on occasion), or you even put paper and chemicals next to your children's genitals (which I also might do on occasion) that's on you, not us. We just want you to know that there are other options out there, and sometimes they work better; not only for you, but for the environment and others around you.

On a personal note, some of the things that we post, we don't practice. One huge example, Elimination Communication, it's interesting but I, Nadine, don't do this with my children.

So, all of this to say, no one is perfect, but the more information we have the more informed we can be and the better we can make our lives.

Thanks for listening!

Mom of the Week: Rachael

My name is Rachael I am 22 years old and I have 2 beautiful children Chloe 16 months born 4-08-06 and Adam 2 months born 5-27-07. They were not planned but they are very loved. I am engaged with no intentions of marriage, we dont need a piece of paper to declare our love. Not to mention we are cheap lol.

I am kinda in to attachment parenting. I breast feed, co-sleep, baby wear, toddler wear, try not to let them CIO, and no spanking.

I am a SAHM for now I will be going back to school next Aug, I want to be a 2nd grade teacher. I have always been in to trying to help the environment since I was very young but I just this year took some big steps. We are slowly changing our sposies to cloth and our shopping bags to cloth as well. I no longer use chemical's to clean. I use vinegar and baking soda for all my cleaning, and sometimes I add in some EO's. Barefoot mamas rock!!!

Thanks for listening Rachael!
